Latin American News: Health Update for a President
In an update on the health of Mr. Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, apparently top government officials in President Hugo Chavez’s government have decided to postpone his January 10 inauguration if the president is still too ill to return to Venezuela and begin his new term.
Mr. Chaves had a “difficult and complicated surgery” on December 11
complications have arisen from this recent surgery. We are told that Mr. Chavez has suffered internal bleeding and a lung infection.
His current condition is described as stable but delicate.
Apparently the problem is that no one has seen the president since December 11th.
When Chavez was in Cuba for his previous surgeries, he kept in touch using video camera and his people could see him and listen tothe speeches and informal talks he would give to his fellow Venezolanos. But now, not even a photograph, nothing has been heard from him and many people are doubting that he is still alive.
