Six- Point Plan for Homeland Security in Mexico
The new Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto and the members of his cabinet
presented his plan for reducing violence and crime caused by the Mexican drug wars.
The president outlined six points and among them was the proposal to create a national
gendarmerie as well as the consolidation of state police forces under federal command.
Increasing the number of federal police and establishing a whole new law enforcement
body sounds like a very interesting development, and we will just have to wait and see
how the plans of this new administration work out.
